The Best Manchester Restaurants to take Clients
Manchester has become one of the UK’s most exciting cities for eating out. Once known mainly for hearty, traditional food, it’s now a genuinely diverse and confident dining destination, including brilliant neighbourhood favourites, independent gems to internationally renowned restaurants.
When it comes to taking clients out, you really are spoilt for choice, but it’s about choosing somewhere that you trust to get the balance right: excellent food, thoughtful service, and a room that feels comfortable enough for proper conversation, but special enough to feel like an occasion.
These are our favourite spots in Manchester.
Caravan
Goods Yard, St John’s
££
Caravan has become one of our go-to spots for more relaxed, modern client meetings. Set in the beautifully redeveloped St John’s area, it’s bright, spacious, and effortlessly cool, contemporary without trying too hard.
The food is consistently excellent, with a globally inspired, all-day menu that works just as well for breakfast meetings as it does for lunch or early dinners. Add great coffee, great service, and a laid-back-but-polished atmosphere, and you’ve got a perfect “let’s talk things through” venue.

Chotto Matte
36 King Street
£££
For something with energy, glamour and international flair, Chotto Matte is a brilliant choice. This Japanese–Peruvian restaurant sits right on King Street and brings a high-octane, fashion-led feel to client dining with stunning views across the city.
The menu is bold and playful with sushi, robata grill, and Nikkei-style plates designed for sharing, and the room always feels like something’s happening. It’s ideal for entertaining, celebrating, or hosting clients when you want the meeting to feel more like an occasion than an obligation.

Climat
Blackfriars House, St Mary’s Parsonage
£££
Hidden away on the eighth floor of an unassuming office building, Climat is one of Manchester’s best-kept secrets. The views across the city are spectacular, the open kitchen adds theatre, and the menu focuses on refined, French-inspired dishes done with real confidence.
There’s also a roof terrace, complete with beehives, and an exceptional wine list that’s worth visiting for alone. This is the place for when you want something that feels elevated, special, and unmistakably impressive (weather permitting, of course).

Lina Stores
St Johns Court, 17 Quay St.
£
Having a number of restaurants in London, Lina Stores is the brand’s first regional opening and a great addition to Manchester. With a reasonably priced menu of authentic Italian food and warm, retro-inspired interior, it’s nothing flashy but certainly welcoming. Their Pranzo da Lina set menu is not to be missed for a quick lunchtime meeting- with an antipasto, pasta, dessert and a drink for just £15. Everyone loves Italian right?

9 Deansgate, Owen St.
££
Contemporary Japanese restaurant Kitten can be found at the foot of Deansgate Towers, offering fun fine-dining in a plush, modern setting. We love it because it balances style and substance- delicious Japanese dishes with a twist (like the ‘Kentucky fried’ calamari), an extensive sake menu and cool atmosphere.
It’s such an impressive space for client meetings in the day, or into the evening.

Pip
Treehouse Hotel, Blackfriars St.
££
Awarded Restaurant of the Year 2025 in the This is Manchester Awards for good reason, Pip offers hearty dishes inspired by seasonal, local produce.
The restaurant has an inviting, rustic feel, decorated with repurposed materials and vintage pieces. Their signature Lancashire hotpot with pickled red cabbage and oyster ketchup is not to be missed, a heartfelt Northern classic.

The Refuge
Kimpton Clocktower Hotel, Oxford St.
££
The Refuge is an iconic Manchester building and the restaurant is a great spot for an atmospheric client lunch or buzzy dinner. It’s old-school glamour meets industrial charm, impressive but friendly. Tuck into a selection of their small plate fusion- we’d recommend the beetroot barani and cauliflower bravas.
FYI they also have an excellent cocktail menu.

Tattu
3 Hardman Square, Gartside St.
£££
Located in Spinningfields, Tattu offers a luxe, opulent vibe which makes quite the impression. Its modern, Asian cuisine lives up to the drama and beauty of the venue, creating a multi-sensory dining experience.
Sit under the restaurant’s iconic cherry blossom tree and take your pick from their mouthwatering take on Chinese food.
